blog post ~ from This is Reverb ~ love what Detzel says about trust, especially this… “Trust is laying down our micromanaging mindsets to allow others to be trustworthy.” Don’t know about you, but that’s hard to do!
video ~ i love the way this father and his daughter interact and when she says “one day I will whistle?” so cute!
quote ~ “a ship in harbor is safe, but that’s not why ships are built” and as a friend said about this quote… “it is comfortable, but at the same time frustrating… I really only find true joy and fulfillment when I sail my ship… just wish I could get myself to do it more.”
photos ~ of course I can’t pick just one! love this photo of my baby girl… Veronica you are beautiful!
and this one of Jaxson. He is growing so!
fun thing i did ~ last night Mark and I enjoyed a dinner cruise out on the beautiful Sarasota Bay, compliments of a couple local businesses… one of the rare perks of being in the construction industry.
What a great way to do some networking… with each other
productive thing i did ~ purged my clothes closet… feels so good!
As you look back over your week, I hope you will see God’s gifts of grace.
And remember… encourage each other!
thought i would share with you a few of my favorite things today…
have you heard of PS22, the elementary school chorus from Staten Island? they are good and have become quite the internet celebrities! What fun to have a music class like this…
Last weekend we celebrated the life of our friend Lou, who went to be with the Lord on December 22 after a 12 year battle with cancer. A gifted young man and friend, wrote this song and sang it that evening. I so wish I had the audio to share with you (one day!), but take a minute and read these lyrics by the one and only Jordan Hamilton.
Don’t remember me
by the war I fought before I got home
don’t remember me anymore
by the struggle within my bones
please remember me
by the love of my only Lord
know that I loved you so much
But there’s someone that loves you more
I’m ready as I’ll ever be
to let this love take hold of me
my story becomes my legacy
you’re my legacy
I’m ready as I’ll ever be
to let this love take hold of me
my family is my legacy
you’re my legacy
Take a breath for me
and know that I’m breathing heaven’s air
dancing beautifully to a song that I loved while I was here
know that I am healed
and know that I loved you so much
but there’s one who loves you greater
{lyrics and music by Jordan Hamilton}
Here’s a great quote I ran across this week by A W Tozer…
God is looking for people through whom He can do the impossible. What a pity when we plan only the things we can do by ourselves.
In anticipation of the porch swing Mark is building for me, I found this lovely print at Pier 1 to hang next to it on the porch. It makes me happy.
And finally, my most favorite part of this past week?
Finding an old friend on my bookshelf and now I can’t put it down…
I love Fridays because it’s the end of the week and I get to spend the morning with a wonderful group of women being challenged and encouraged. We are watching a Beth Moore DVD series on Revelation, Here and Now, There and Then. It’s great!
Hooray for weekends! Enjoy yours and don’t forget to encourage each other!
